For several years, Lia has built on her ground-breaking cultural and tourism strategies in Esch-sur-Alzette, helping position Luxembourg’s second city as a leader in regenerative practice and contributing to its successful role as EU Capital of Culture 2022.

In 2024–2025, Esch-sur-Alzette launched a series of engagement processes to define the principles and foundations of an Intercultural Centre (Maison de la Diversité). Working closely with the municipal Diversity and Living Together department, Lia designed and facilitated these engagements and helped shape the Centre’s vision, objectives, and future activities and services.

With a population of 37,904—56.2% of whom are of foreign origin—Esch-sur-Alzette is a highly diverse city. The Maison is conceived as an open, public space where associations and municipal actors can collaborate, exchange ideas, and deliver activities, while promoting equality, non-discrimination, and intercultural cohesion, and providing support to those experiencing discrimination.
